The latest roll out of Penguin included targeting websites with obvious and no-s0-obvious web spam. That includes everything from crappy spamish link building tactics to on-site spam tactics like keyword stuffing, keyword density and more.

Our friends at the Denver SEO have become national hero’s as established Google penalty troubleshooters they’ve been able to save so far dozens of small businesses from the wrath of Google.

How to Avoid Google’s Over Optimization Penalty

Written by: Sean H
Guess Blogger from: Denver SEO, Inc.

It’s business time, or at least that’s the message that it appears Google wants to make very clear. Recently, Google eliminated several link networks, one in particular called BuildMyRank.com, a favorite among some SEOs to distribute content .

In March I wrote “Your Website Might Be Penalized for Over Optimization,” and I think it’s fair to suggest things are about to get very interesting in the world of SEO, especially for those who rely on outdated spam techniques.

Google doesn’t specifically say what they are looking for but I would go to far out to suggest the following…

  • Keyword Density Spam: Some SEOs use outdated tactics such as keyword density. Some SEOs stuff so many keywords in a website that it makes it hard to read for just about everyone and that includes Google.
  • Footer Spam: Do I need to be any further detailed about this?
  • Title & Description Spam

The list goes on including article spinning etc.. so I think it’s fair to say, if your looking for the easy route, things are about to change, quickly.

Yodle Organic

There’s been a lot of talk around the SEO space with regards to flat-lining interest in the once blooming local internet marketing company: Yodle. Just hours ago Sean Hakes posted a blurb on the authority SEM Reviews website titled “Yodle Organic – 2 Years Later,” and suggested losing SVP of Sales & Marketing, Mike DeLuca was a major blow to Yodle.

“On November 30, 2010 Yodle took a major blow by loosing what I considered a ‘key player.’ It was later announced that Mike DeLuca who at the time was Yodle’s Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing was packing his bags and heading off to AOL to head their sales efforts.”

Yodle to me seems as if they are a ‘big box’ internet marketing firm with products and services that sound good but could hardly compete with local SEO professionals who spend countless hours keeping their clients competitive.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this piece.

Best Domain Name Registrar Period.

If you’re a online marketer you already know this but if not one of the best hidden secrets to dominating your market and industry is acquiring just about as many domain names as you can in relations to what you do regardless of the domain’s extension.

For an example; if I was a Phoenix Plumber I would most likely pick up every variation of a U.S TLD (Top Level Domain) that I could find relating to Phoenix Plumbing, Phoenix Plumbers etc… (i.e. PhoenixPlumbing.net, PhoenixPlumbing.info, PhoenixPlumbing.org, PhoenixPlumber.net and so on…)

Over the last decade of buying domain names and internet marketing I’ve got to know a lot of the domain name registrars and have picked out who I believe is without a doubt the best in the business and that’s name.com.

You may already know about Name.com but if you don’t you’ll want to jump on board if you’re a serious business owner and a serious domain name investor. Name.com features some of the best pricing in the industry and not to mention have without a doubt some of the best customer service you’ll find anywhere. In addition to exceptional pricing is the fact that their user control panel is clean and simple. You’ll find what you need quickly and without being bombarded with countless ads attempting to drain you of every hard earned dollar you have.

Find Domain Names .com and just about every other extension around the world. If you’re looking for great domains, great tools and great service don’t take my word for it – jump on over to name.com today.

Is SEO a Scam? The Truth Uncovered

Recommended by: (Unknown)

I frequent many SEO and Web Marketing forums on a daily basis and every so often there is a debate about the SEO industry and ethics. After being involved in a number of these debates, it has become really obvious that the main problems are the facts that no two SEO companies are alike and there is no unified methodology. It’s very hard to make statements about the industry as a whole because it’s debatable what exactly ‘SEO’ is. Mix in the fact that most SEO companies keep their methodology and campaign strategies secret and we have a situation where every company is totally different with very different results.

Fact 1 : There is no unified Search Engine Optimization methodology. SEO is actually defined by wikipedia as a process of improving traffic from SERPs to a site. Of course, HOW they do that is the real question and causes the debates.

Fact 2 : The effectiveness of an SEO campaign depends on the site structure, site content, keywords, methodology used, and how popular the site is. A site cannot just rank for any random keyword. SEO is also not voodoo. It is logic, problem solving, and Web marketing mixed together. If your site provides no value to users, it probably won’t rank.

Client Spotlight: Securitas Phoenix, Temp Security Phoenix

No matter how safe your workplace may seem, there’s always the possibility of an unexpected event that could damage your employees’ morale, comfort, and confidence in your ability as a business owner to provide a safe working environment. Two services that Securitas temp security Phoenix can provide your Phoenix based business with are workplace violence support and termination support.
Nobody wants to let an employee go anymore than anyone actually wants to be let go. Yet, workplace terminations are an inevitable occurrence, especially in this turbulent economy. Unfortunately, with so many people unemployed and desperate for work, violence may result from an unexpected termination, especially if an individual has a family at home to support.
While violence is an understandable reaction in certain extreme cases, it can never be condoned, and it is important that as a business owner, you take the necessary precautions to guarantee the safety of yourself as well as your employees. The first step to achieving this end is to search out a well-established temp security Phoenix company, like Securitas Phoenix, which has an expert, experienced staff on hand.
The company you choose should only train its staff in physical force as a last resort. Diplomacy is always key when attempting to diffuse a situation before it escalates and gets out of hand. More often than not, words are more powerful than fists when it comes to conflict, so diplomacy will usually accomplish more in a shorter amount of time than physical intervention.
That said, when choosing Securitas temp security Phoenix for your business, you should always take into consideration the amount of force you think you would need at your place of work in the event of an emergency. Many companies can provide you with armed guards, although this might be a bit extreme for most workplaces. Remember, safety can often be more of an imagined state than a reality, so hiring more security force than you need may cause your employees to actually question their security, rather than be confident in it.
In the end, you have a hard decision to make as a business owner. You should expect criticism from some of your employees, since hiring security can come off as uptight to some. Some employees also might begin to think that you don’t trust them, that you think they’re unstable, etc. This is why, more than anything, it is important to openly communicate with your employees about the changes you are making to your workplace and why, and to allow them to submit feedback and criticism freely.
So, don’t delay, and give Securitas temp security Phoenix a call today to get started on hiring security for your Phoenix business today!

Client Spotlight: Harrington Group, Inc.

Hello Readers!

Today we are doing a client spotlight on Harrington Group, Inc.  They are a fire safety and protection engineering firm with offices in Georgia and North Carolina.  As a client of ours who deals with fire protection, we’d like to expand on what they do by focusing on the role of fire safety engineers in both building safe buildings and in assessing the cause, origin, and nature of fires after the fact. There is a certain level of mystic and confusion that surrounds the occupation of fire protection engineers.  Fire protection engineers are often called to the scene of a fire to investigate and assess the losses that may have occurred during a fire.  They are experts in the nature of fires; how any why they may have started, what may have caused any fire protection system that was in place to fail, and what code issues may have been responsible for losses that transpired during a fire.  Moreover, they are called to location because they can back up the Fire Cause and Origin Specialists who are members of local fire departments.  Fire protection sciences, especially when developed by experts in the field of fire engineering, envelops a large body of knowledge and skills which concern sciences across both fire technologies and explosives as well as more general engineering theories and practices.  Because of their breadth of knowledge, they are often called in by insurance companies, attorneys and fire departments to determine certain factors in the cause and origin of fires.
Because local fire experts are not as skilled specifically as fire engineers, their testimonies can be questioned in court; attorneys are now turning to fire protection engineers to be expert witnesses because their training and background is much more difficult to challenge than that of a local cause and origin fire expert.
Fire protection is an integral part of the safety system of any home or other building.  It is required by law for even private homes to have some level of fire protection system, such as smoke alarms.  While the average layman might assume that fire safety systems are made up of an alarm and a sprinkler system, higher-end fire safety & protection systems are much more complex.  Special ventilation systems for restaurant commercial kitchens, foam extinguishers, and even the basic design of the structure’s interior can all play vital roles in fire protection.  Since Fire Protection Experts often have background in creating these systems, part of their expert analysis of all fire cause-and-origin includes evaluating if the fire safety systems of the structure functioned properly during the fire.

Researching before hiring a Phoenix SEO Firm

When it comes to optimizing the content of your business’s website for search engine capabilities, proper organization is one of the key objectives you must take into consideration if you want to beat the competition. You can be sure that any competitive business based in the Phoenix area either has trained staff on hand who understand the inner workings of SEO or has a local independent Phoenix SEO firm taking care of their SEO needs. Hiring an SEO firm is usually your best bet if you’re new to the Internet marketing game, because it takes the stress of SEO work off of you and hands it over to a group of individuals who do this sort of thing on a daily basis.

If you’re just now looking into giving your business the cyber-boost it needs with SEO work, you have a bit of catching up to do even before you go out and hire an independent Phoenix SEO Agency. SEO work first and foremost requires a plan of attack. What kind of market are you after? How broad or narrow will your consumer focus be? Are you considering a local, national, or global campaign? Answering these simple questions will help you outline and articulate the specific work you need done to your local Phoenix SEO company. This way you will not get stuck with a generic SEO package that involves little more than a bit of keyword placement and web development.

Taking the proper steps to learn a little bit — just the bare basics — of SEO work can help you choose the right Phoenix SEO company. In the end, a little research will give you the resources necessary to 1) inform your SEO analyst of your business’s unique needs and goals, and 2) make sure that the SEO firm you choose is working hard to fulfill those needs and achieve those goals.

Phoenix SEO & Paid Links

There’s been a lot of chatter on the streets how a handful of “Leading Phoenix SEO Experts,” here in Phoenix have been participating in some high Page Rank link purchasing which in Google’s eyes is an unethical attempt to fool Google’s Page Rank Algorithms.

Since the day I popped into SEO (2003) I’ve made a commitment to myself that I’d never play around with paid links and to this day am proud to say that I haven’t done this common tactic among Phoenix SEO professionals.

I’ve got some good stuff that I am going to announce and play-on regarding paid links in the very near future.
